When Your Zone Representatives Call, Please Answer
Recently I had the privilege of attending a zone conference meeting in Shreveport, LA. It was a long 8 hour drive on a Friday evening after a 10 hour shift at work (I'm a nurse). On the way there I was grumbling to my friend Liz about being tired and this meeting had better be good and provide information worthy of my time and energy. We arrived at the hotel at 1:30 A.M. The conference started at 8:00 the next morning. Actually I felt pretty good and was ready to go with no expectations as to what I was going to learn, if anything, that day. I was very pleasantly surprised at the wealth of knowledge and years of experience in that room. The conference was wonderful. Not only was the information presented useful for PWP but it will be helpful in everyday life and work. Zone officers have already been there and done that so why not take advantage of all this experience. We don't need to reinvent the wheel everytime do we? The zone conferences have not been very well attended and I guess I am wondering why. I will defenitely go again. Do we all know everything there is to know about running our chapters so smoothly that the Zone could not possibly have anything of value to teach us? I say, "I don't think so". If you have never attended a zone conference or have not attended one in a while I encourage you to do so. I believe you will be pleasantly surprised as I was. PWP is the best kept secret in America, it would be nice if the secret got out so When Your Zone Representatives Call, Please Answer.
