Many members do not know who serves them on the International Board of Directors (IBOD). Here is your chance to learn who represents you, learn a little about each of them and what they do for Parents Without Partners. You will also find contact information for each so that you may get in touch with them with your questions and concerns.
From the PWP, Inc. Constitution and Bylaws (gray paper)
Article VI A: "Composition: The IBOD shall consist of all Officers, Zone Presidents/International Directors, and in addition, ex-officio and without vote, the Executive Director/Administrator. IBOD shall retain Legal Counsel to serve as an advisor to the IBOD."
Article VI B: "Officers: The Officers of PWP, Inc. shall be the President, Administrative Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Vice Presidents of Community Involvement, Family and Youth, Membership, and Programs and Education. Duties shall be as listed below and as defined by policies and procedures established by IBOD. The term of office for all Officers shall be two years. All Officers shall be elected at an annual meeting."

DUTIES: The President shall be the Executive Officer of the Corporation and shall preside at the meetings of the membership and the Executive Committee, shall be an ex-officio member of all committees except the Nominating Committee and the Ethics and Grievance Committee, shall exercise general supervision of the affairs of the Corporation and see to the enforcement of the Constitution and Bylaws and carry out all orders and resolutions of the IBOD, shall make an annual report to the membership on behalf of the IBOD, shall be responsible for assigning membership to committees set up by the IBOD or these Bylaws, shall serve as Chairman of the Bylaw Review Committee, and shall be empowered to call special meetings of IBOD, as needed.
Marie is a long-term member of Parents Without Partners who has held many positions in PWP. She resides in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Her two sons are grown. One lives in Toronto and the other in British Columbia. Marie is recently retired from teaching special needs children, although she continues to tutor a few special children part time. Crafting is an interest of Marie, and she has started a business to sell and teach crafts. Marie divides her time between Toronto and her cottage in Huntsville.

DUTIES: The Administrative Vice President shall assist the President in the discharge of functions and, in the absence or temporary disability of the President, shall perform the duties and exercise the powers of the President, shall be concerned with the administration of the Corporation in areas not under the cognizance of another officer or as the IBOD may designate, and acts as liaison between the International Board of Directors and the International Office.

Bob, a 45 year old divorced father of two was born and raised in Long Island, New York and currently resides in Ellicott City, Maryland. Bob earned his B.S. degree in Business Management from the University of Maryland, University College. In 1989, he earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Baltimore School of Law. After law school, Bob was employed with Ernst & Young in their tax department. Bob is now employed as a Senior Trial Lawyer with the firm of Goodman, Meager & Enoch, LLP. He has been recognized in Who's Who in American Law. Bob has served as Vice President of Family & Youth and President of the Howard County Chapter, President of the Mid Atlantic Regional Council and Zone C President. He is also an active member of the Ellicott City Volunteer Fire Department and an Associate member of the Plainview Volunteer Fire Department.

DUTIES: The Secretary shall take, or cause to be taken, accurate minutes of the proceedings of meetings of the delegate body, IBOD, and the Executive Committee and record them in a book to be kept for that purpose.
Sue is currently serving on the following IBOD committees: Bylaw & Administrative Review Committee, Membership Committee, Elections & Credentials Committee, Executive Committee, E&G Committee and Fundraising Committee.
Sue was born and raised in Rockville Centre (Long Island), New York. She graduated from Emerson College with a BS degree in Speech Communications (specialized in speech pathology and audiology) and started on her Masters degree in Special Education. She moved to Florida in 1980 with her 12 year old son who now resides in Owings Mills, MD with his wife and six year old son, Joshua. She has been active on chapter boards of directors since she joined PWP in 1982 as VP Public Relations, AVP, President, and Secretary. She has also been active in the South Florida Regional Council #92 as Secretary for several years. After a "personal leave" due to burnout, Sue transferred to Ft Lauderdale Chapter 157 and served as Secretary, as well as serving as SFRC 92 Secretary after its reorganization. She then ran and was elected as Zone L Secretary in June 2002. Professionally, Sue has been a speech therapist, teacher of handicapped children, secretary, office manager, and administrative assistant.

DUTIES: The Treasurer shall have custody of the corporate funds and securities and shall ensure that full and accurate accounts are kept of the receipts and disbursements in books belonging to the Corporation and that all monies or other valuable effects are deposited in the name, and to the credit of the Corporation in such depositories as may be designated by the IBOD; shall render to the President and the IBOD at the regular meetings of the IBOD, or whenever they may require it, an account of all transactions as Treasurer and of the financial conditions of the Corporation, shall prepare and present a certified report annually, shall be bonded in such manner as is satisfactory to the IBOD.
The Treasurer serves as Chairman of the Budget and Finance Committee and Fundraising Committee. Bob will serve on the following International committees this coming year: Executive Committee, International Convention Committee, Elections & Credentials Committee, Nominating Committee and the Website Committee.
Bob is a long-term member of Parents Without Partners. He has served as Zone B President, Zone Treasurer, Regional Treasurer, Acting President of his region and Region PR officer, Chapter AVP, Treasurer, and PR officer. Bob is a widower with two married sons and two grandchildren. He is a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, a Pennsylvania-certified high school athletic official for the sports of football, baseball, softball, and basketball. He is currently serving in different capacities on each of the boards for each sport, including five years as President of the Basketball Chapter and four years as President of the Football Chapter.

DUTIES: The Vice President of Community Relations shall be concerned with community involvement activities whose areas of interest are closely associated with those of single parents and their children.
A. Legislative Action: shall advise the IBOD on those areas where maximum opportunities exist to achieve legislative improvements and on issues of concern to single parents and their children, shall recommend positions of principle for adoption by the IBOD.
B. Public Relations: shall be concerned with presenting a favorable image of PWP to the public through the various mass media and with obtaining favorable publicity for international events, subject to policies and procedures established by IBOD.
C. Community Relations: promotes programs and community relations activities whose areas of interest are associated with single parents and their children to make them aware that PWP is a part of the community.
D. Serves as cognizant officer of The Single Parent Magazine and the PWP International website.
Barbara is Chairman of the International Community Relations Committee and International Website Committee, and a member of the Convention, Awards, and Executive Committees.
Barbara joined PWP in 1986 and has held the following positions: Chapter: SW Area Director, VP Family & Youth, Camping Director. Regional: President, AVP, Treasurer. Zone: AZA, Secretary/Treasurer, VP Family & Youth. International: VP Family & Youth.
She is the mother of one daughter, Christina (25), who currently resides with her, and a step-daughter, Tamara (28), who is married with two children. Barbara's favorite activity is camping (in her RV). She has been the coordinator of the Greater Houston Chapter's camping program for the past 15 years. Barbara works part time for a property management company in addition to managing her own properties. She has been President of her Homeowner's Association and is a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

DUTIES: Vice President of Family & Youth shall be concerned with the development of programs and activities for children of all ages at all organizational levels.
Mary Anne is Chairman of the Family & Youth Committee and serves on the Executive Committee, Convention Committee, Budget & Finance Committee, and Awards Committee.
She was born and raised in southeastern Michigan and did not begin to attend college until she was into her 30's. At the same time, she was employed full time and attended two different colleges-50 miles apart, pursuing degrees at each. Now she is employed as a prototype planner at Continental Teves-NA.
She has two grown children; a son, Zac, who is an account exec and resides in Charlotte, NC and a daughter, Stefanie, a marketing assistant who lives in Michigan with her husband.
Mary Anne has held many different positions at each level of Parents Without Partners, but states the activity she enjoys most is working with the kids. She volunteers for Special Olympics, Habitat for Humanity and the March of Dimes. In her spare time, she reads, sews, gardens and enjoys fishing.

DUTIES: The Vice President of Programs & Education shall provide assistance and be responsible for the development of all programs and educational activities at all organizational levels.
Lew serves on the following International committees: International Convention Committee, Awards Committee, Nominating Committee, Executive Committee, Website Committee, and as Chairman of the Programs & Education Committee. He is responsible for the workshop programming at International Convention.
Lew grew up in the south Texas coastal village of Port Isabel, across the bay from South Padre Island and attended high school and junior college in nearby Brownsville before setting his sights on Austin and the University of Texas, which he attended for several years. An aptitude for math and science led to a career in water resources with the Texas Water Development Board and eventual retirement as a Systems Analyst. He still does some water resource consulting occasionally, and is a Registered Massage Therapist and a nutritional and wellness advocate.
Lew joined PWP in 1979 and held many leadership positions before serving on the International Board as a Director for Zone K and then your International Vice President of Programs & Education from 1995-1997. His passions include camping, water sports, fitness and motivational training.
Lew is a Vietnam veteran and the proud father of two children. David graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy, is married, a Physical Therapist and a career officer in the USAF. Daughter Jennifer graduated from Texas Tech University and is embarking on a career of service to disadvantaged children.
Vice President of Membership

DUTIES: The Vice President of Membership shall have custody of the rolls of members and shall supervise the issuance of membership cards, collection of dues and the admission of new members into PWP; shall review and present to the IBOD for approval all chapter, regional council petitions for charter and articles of incorporation; shall plan for establishment of other units and/or affiliates of this organization, when directed by the IBOD.
Kathie is Chairman of the Membership Committee, and serves on the Bylaw & Administrative Review Committee, Budget & Finance Committee, Community Relations Committee, Elections & Credentials Committee, and Executive Committee.
Kathie has held offices in PWP as Treasurer of Westside Single Parents Chapter 1350 for three years, Treasurer of Central New York Regional Council #26 for one year, and President of Central New York Regional Council #26 for three years. She has handled the Member at Large program for Zone B since November, 2001 and assisted Membership vice presidents of several chapters in areas of problem solving, restoring membership records to proper sequence and doing membership audits. She helped start two chapters in Central New York Region #26. Kathie has a BA in Accounting. She has three grown daughters and seven grandchildren. Her hobbies include gardening, reading, crocheting, traveling, and meeting new people.

Marie served on the Zone A Board of Directors as Administrative Vice President for three years. She also has served as Regional Council President and AVP, and as chapter President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Vice President of Membership.
Marie has two grown sons, Timothy and Daniel, and nine grandchildren. Her hobbies include flying single engine private aircraft, collecting casino tokens and chips, and teddy bears.

As Zone B President, Liz serves IBOD on the following committees: Zone President's Committee.
Liz has been an active member of PWP for the past 14 years. She immediately got on a committee and then served on the chapter board as Secretary, Vice President and President. At the regional level, Liz has served as Secretary, Vice President, Programs & Education, Membership, Family & Youth and Administrative Vice President. She also served two terms as Zone B Administrative Vice President before being elected Zone B President. Liz has four grown children and five grandchildren. She worked twenty eight years in a hospital as the Assistant to the Executive Director before retiring in 1999. She now works for a private physician. Liz has attended college to study nursing.

Zone C President Marti Tidmore serves on the Bylaw & Administrative Review Committee, Budget & Finance Committee, E&G Committee and Fundraising Committee.
After moving back to Virginia in the late 1980's Marti joined Fairfax Chapter 715, so she could make friends with others. She has served as chapter VP of Programs & Education, Secretary, Newsletter Editor and Amigo. She also served as Zone C Secretary and Treasurer prior to being elected Zone C President. She has 3 grown children. There are also 5 children who call her Grandma. Professionally, Marti has been in the financial field most of her adult life. She spent many years at Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, Michigan as a financial analyst. The Bank of America brought her to Virginia, rising to the position of Vice President. Marti retired from the Bank two and half years ago and now has her own business which does contracting work in the financial area. For many years, Marti's passion has been flying. She is a licensed pilot with an IFR rating.

Jo has served in leadership positions at Chapter, Regional, Zone, and International levels. She served as a Director and then Zone D President, International VP of Membership, and now, again, Zone D President for a second time.
Currently serving as Chairman of the International Convention Committee and is a member of the Awards Committee, Programs & Education Committee, Family & Youth Committee, Community Relations Committee, Zone President's Committee and serves as the Chairman of the Board.
She is the mother of four "young" adult children and grandmother to two grandsons and a granddaughter. One grandson, Phillip, is in the Navy and stationed in SanDiego, California. Jo is a Case Management Specialist with the Department of Jobs and Family Services in Summit County, Ohio, and serves as the Vice President of the AFSCME local union there.
Zone D will be hosting the International Convention in 2004 and Jo is actively working on plans for that event.
MERLE ORMSTEAD, Zone F President

Merle was elected President of Zone F in 2002. She serves IBOD on the Zone President's Committee, Budget & Finance Committee, Membership Committee, Elections & Credentials Committee, and Family & Youth Committee.
She has served her home chapter, #185 Ogden Trails, as President, Administrative Vice President, Secretary, VP Membership, VP Programs & Education, Newsletter Editor, and assisted with Orientation and conferences. She served as President, AVP, VP Membership at the Region level and assisted with family & youth events. At the Zone level, Merle was VP Membership for three years.
Merle has one daughter, Merle, and one son, Robert, and says they are precious in her life.

Zone G President Ann Sigler currently serves as Co-Chairman of the International Convention Committee and Chairman of the Awards Committee, and is a member of the Zone President's Committee, Nominating Committee, Programs & Education Committee, and is Facilitator for the IBOD.
Ann has been a member of Parents Without Partners since 1991. She has held various positions throughout chapter, region, and zone. They are: Zone G Administrative Vice President, Regional Administrator-Region 98, Region VP Programs & Education, Region VP Family & Youth, and Chapter 993 President, Amigo Director, Vice Chair Ethics & Grievance Committee, VP Programs & Education, VP Family & Youth, and Newsletter Editor. Ann has three grown and married sons and four grandchildren. She works in a large high-tech corporation as an Administrative Assistant.

Sue-Ellen has been a member of PWP since 1973 and has held numerous positions on all levels including Chapter and RC President, Chapter and RC Newsletter Editor, Int'l Director, Zone President, Int'l Administrative Vice President (2 separate times), and now is, again, representing her Zone as President.
She is currently serving as Chairman of the E&G Committee, and is a member of the Bylaw & Administrative Review Committee, Awards Committee, Programs & Education Committee, Zone President's Committee and the Community Relations Committee.
Sue-Ellen has 4 children (1 son - Jeff, 3 daughters - Christina, Michelle and Theresa) and 2 of the greatest granddaughters, Nicole (who lives with Sue-Ellen) and Isabella, anyone could have. In her 'free' time (besides visiting Isabella), Sue-Ellen holds a part time position at Michael's Arts and Crafts - where she creates and teaches Crafts to adults and children.

Sandy is a mother of three grown children and grandmother of two three-year-old granddaughters. She has been a member of PWP for over eight years, and has served on her chapter, regional council and zone boards in a variety of positions. She is a finance manager by trade, and enjoys her work with PWP. Sandy says she looks forward with hope for the growth in PWP in the years to come.

Barbie Atteberry, Zone K President, serves on the following IBOD committees: Elections & Credentials, Programs & Education, Family & Youth, Zone President's and Community Relations.
Barbie is proud of her Native American heritage. From the age of 12, after being taken from her great grandparents on the reservation, she was raised in foster homes in Boston and New Jersey. At the age of 15, a couple from Raymore, Missouri gained custody of her. Barbie considers Raymore home. Barbie served as a liaison between the Air Force and Civil Air Patrol with the rank of Chief Warrant Officer. She was serving as a Wing Information Officer when she met her husband. They had 3 beautiful daughters together. Barbie went on to become the first female firefighter and studied to become an Emergency Medical Technician. She served in that capacity and in law enforcement in the cities of Raymore and Independence. Barbie has also worked as a tractor-trailer driver. She joined PWP after moving to Texas. PWP helped her recover from the death of one of her daughters and two grand daughters. Barbie also raised 11 foster children. She has 4 living grandchildren and 18 foster grandchildren. Barbie's hobbies include kids, animals, pottery, Native American crafts and myth telling. She is an Elder Grandmother in her circle and is the Volunteer Coordinator for the Native American Indian Festival which is held the first Saturday in November in Austin, Texas.

Clara Lewis, President of Zone L, serves on the Zone President's Committee, Elections & Credentials Committee, Website Committee, Fundraising Committee, and is Vice Chairman of the International E&G Committee.
Clara has been a PWP member since 1980. She has served as Chapter President, Administrative Vice President, Vice President of Membership, Secretary, and Treasurer. She has also served as Peach State Region #23 President, Administrative Vice President, Chairman of Ethics & Grievance Committee, and Vice Chairman of E&G. She has also served as Associate Zone Administrator for Zone L.
Clara has three grown children, Mary Ann, Dianne, and Edward. She has six grandsons and one granddaughter. Clara has been employed with the Georgia Power Company for the past 29 years.
